PHOTO CHALLENGE | ADD A TOUCH OF VINTAGE

It’s holiday time and that means we have a few challenges up our sleeve over at SIMPLE PLEASURE DESIGNS FANS & FRIENDS Facebook group!  I’m hosting a PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE called ‘Add a Touch of Vintage’.

CHALLENGE CRITERIA:

Create a page with at least one (1) Vintage or Heritage Photo in it.

If you don’t have a vintage photo to scrap you can use a current photo and change it from colour to BLACK & WHITE or alternatively follow the simple recolouring technique to create a SEPIA toned photo. 

Note: The technique tutorial is done using Photoshop Elements and is posted in the comments of the pinned post in the FANS & FRIENDS fb group.

RULES:

1- Make a layout following the criteria outlined above.

2- Use SPD Kits only. 

For this challenge I’ve used the Featured Kit  ‘HELLO YESTERDAY’ that Jennifer and I collaborated on. It is the perfect vintage inspired collection to help create your masterpiece! And can be found on sale by clicking on the preview below.

3- Everyone that participates and fulfills the challenge criteria will receive a gift pack of clusters made by Barbara, Rachael and myself.

4- Challenge runs from July 7th- July14th.

SKETCH CHALLENGE | CASEFILE #194 IS READY TO BE SOLVED!

CHALLENGE | CASEFILE #181 READY TO BE SOLVED

This months Major Casefile #181 over at C.S.I is now live and runs until the 30th November 2015. This months Major Casefile is all about sharing your personal history. There are some great journaling prompts in the links provided over at CSI and the evidence prompts lend themselves to just a touch of vintage or steampunk perfect design themes for capturing the essence of days gone by.

THE DIGICHICK| DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT CHALLENGE

Just a lil excited to be featured over at TDC this month. So if you're interested in learning a little bit more about moi head on over to the Challenge forum at TDC and look for the Designer Spotlight Interview/Challenge for September. To play along with the challenge you can download the freebie pack I put together called 'On Cloud 9' but you can only get it over at TDC :)

CHALLENGE CRITERIA:

In addition to using all of the mini kit, you must incorporate the theme of "On Cloud Nine" into your page by using the following criteria: Share with us that one thing that has made you feel extreme happiness or euphoria. Something that gives you the sense of feeling like you're floating on air. 

Extra Criteria:

Incorporate the number 9 into your project as a main focal point. Some ideas to make the number really stand out are using it in your title work in a unique way, perhaps try clipping photos to a large number 9 to really showcase your photos, or maybe repeat the number 9 throughout your page.

SCRAP OUR STASH| GUEST SKETCH ARTIST

The Nifty Pixel is the guest sketch artist over at Scrap Our Stash this month.

If you haven't heard of SOS ya gotta go over and check them out. They are a great challenge site inspired to encourage you to use up all those products you have in your stash! This has gotta be a good thing if you are a hoarder like me, I could easily be lost in a sea of papers, embellies and everything inbetween if it wasn't for fun challenge sites like this one.

I also played along, here is my take adding in the banner which was extra criteria.
